Care and Maintenance

Crafted from Nature. Iconic by Design. Made for Life.

Your New Form Concreting basin is designed to be both durable and beautiful, a statement piece made for everyday living. With a little care, your basin will continue to look its best for years to come.

Everyday Cleaning

  • Use a soft, non-abrasive cloth or sponge with warm soapy water.
  • Rinse thoroughly and dry with a clean microfibre cloth.
  • For tougher marks, a pH-neutral cleaner (stone or concrete-safe) can be used.
  • Avoid harsh scrubbing pads, bleach, or acidic cleaners (such as vinegar or citrus-based products) as they may damage the surface.

Preventing Stains & Damage

Concrete is a natural, porous material – while sealed for protection, it still needs care:

  • Wipe spills promptly, especially from cosmetics, toothpaste, soaps, and coloured liquids (like hair dye, wine, or coffee). Althouugh are basins are very very stain resistant, some care is needed in cleaning off things that may cause a stain
  • Avoid abrasive powders, steel wool, or strong chemicals (e.g., drain cleaner, nail polish remover, acetone).
  • Always use a mild cleaner if in doubt.

Heat & Impact

  • Do not place hot tools (like hair straighteners) directly on the surface – use a heat-resistant mat.

  • do not use boiling water in your basin
  • Avoid dropping heavy or sharp objects into the basin as chips or cracks may occur.

Sealing & Waxing

Unlike some other concrete basins, your Designer Collection basin does not require waxing.

  • Our basins are sealed during production with a durable protective sealer that resists daily use.
  • No ongoing sealing or waxing is necessary – simple care is all that’s required.

Long-Term Care

  • Small surface variations are a natural characteristic of concrete – they add to the uniqueness of your basin.
  • If your basin develops fine hairline marks or light wear over many years, this is considered normal and part of the material’s charm.
  • For peace of mind, all basins come with our 1-year replacement warranty.

Tips to Keep Your Basin Looking Its Best

  • Use only stone-safe, pH-neutral products when cleaning.

Your basin is more than functional – it’s a handcrafted piece of design.

With the right care, it will age gracefully and remain a timeless centrepiece in your space.

Installation

Important:

Installation of your New Form Concreting basin must be completed by a qualified plumber in accordance with local regulations.

What You’ll Need

  • Neutral cure clear silicone
  • Basin waste (32mm or 40mm, depending on model)
  • Microfibre cloth
  • Level

Step 1: Prepare the Surface

  • Ensure the vanity or countertop is level, clean, and dry before beginning.
  • Confirm there is adequate support for the weight of the concrete basin.

Step 2: Apply Silicone (Top & Bottom Seal)

  • Apply a bead of neutral cure silicone to the around the base of the basin before placing it on the countertop, ensuring noo water can creep under the basin.
  • Apply a second bead of silicone around the top inside edge of the waste hole, this ensures the basin is not in direct contact with the waste fitting, allowing for natural movement

Step 3: Fit the Waste

  • Insert the waste fitting with silicone on both sides of the basin (top and bottom).
  • Do not over tighten, as this may place stress on the concrete.
  • Wipe away excess silicone with a damp cloth.

Step 4: Final Placement

  • Gently press the basin into position.
  • Ensure it is level before the silicone cures.
  • Allow silicone to cure for at least 24 hours before use.

Usage & Safety Guidelines

  • Water temperature: Do not expose the basin to water hotter than 60°C to avoid thermal stress.
  • Do not fill and leave the basin full for longer than 1 hour. Extended soaking may affect the sealer and cause surface changes.
  • Avoid dropping heavy objects or applying direct force during installation.
  • do not use boiling water in the basin - concrete doesn't like extremes
  • doo not use acetone
  • hand tighten the waste only

Important Notes

  • Only use pH-neutral, non-acidic silicone.
  • Ensure there is a small silicone buffer around the waste hole so the basin does not sit in direct contact with metal fittings.
  • Installation by an unqualified person may void your warranty.

✨ With proper installation, your basin will perform beautifully for years to come.
